I’ve been playing with a new social media site called empire avenue. Empire Avenue builds on some of the concepts of klout by scoring various activities and connections across a variety of social media channels.
By participating on social media channels your receive pretend dollars called (Eaves). In addition to this you can spend your eaves to purchase shares in other members. This drives their stock price. Your activity level on social media also determines the dividend your shareholders receive as a reward for owning their shares.
Eaves can also be spent to do advertising on the site. This could be a new outlet for driving attention to your companies website or blog. A new feature allows you to reward your shareholders with eaves for completing a mission for you. A example of a mission might be liking their facebook page or visiting their blog.
I think this could be a great tool for marketing departments with the time (or interns) to use it. Organizations with a high level of social media activity and a large shareholder base could drive actions from their audiences very easily.
I went to the Seneca Niagara Casino last night. I am now a big fan and a member of the players club.
